Wakefield Bridge Club supports the community with fundraising events

Wakefield Bridge Club has raised funds for Wakefield Hospice and the Wakefield Memory Action Group through a recent fundraising bridge event.

Like many organisations, the club faced falling membership following Covid restrictions when a fundraising committee was formed to help top up funds and

social fundraising bridge events were held.

They have proved extremely popular and helped the club rebuild membership while now also raising money for local charities.

These events combine bridge with a meal, prizes and a raffle, with all prizes including a luxury hamper generously donated by club members

Club President Beverley Barrows, said: “These events have been a real boost for the club.

"We are pleased to be able to support charities that do such important work in our community.”

The club plans to continue these events, raising funds for local charities while bringing the community together through playing bridge and welcomes new members of all abilities.
