Temporary traffic lights in place as seven weeks of roadworks begin on major road
Seven weeks of roadworks have begun on a busy Pontefract road.
Northern Powergrid have begun work on the A638 Wakefield Road, Ackworth, to excavate and replace several hundred metres of cable.
The work will take place from the junction with Chiltern Drive to the junction with Dicky Sykes Lane.
More than 400m of cable will be excavated from the road, with a further 565m from the pavement.
Temporary traffic lights will be in place until the work is completed on Friday, August 14.
Delays are expected.
