New live wrestling show set to make its debut in Wakefield
A new professional wrestling is set to make its debut in Wakefield later this summer with an event at a city pub.
Visual Impact Wrestling (VIW) will launch with its first show, Clash in Holmfield, on Sunday, August 30, at The Holmfield Arms in Thornes Park.
Doors open at 4.30pm, with the first match starting at 5pm. The show is scheduled to finish at around 7.30pm.
Organisers say the card will feature professional wrestlers from across the UK and around the world, bringing talent with international experience to Wakefield.
A spokesperson for Visual Impact Wrestling said: "The show will feature professional wrestlers from across the UK and around the world, bringing talent with international experience to Wakefield for what promises to be a fantastic afternoon of live entertainment."
The event is described as family-friendly, with standing tickets priced at £10, general seating at £12.50, and VIP front-row seats at £18.
VIP ticket holders will also have the opportunity to meet the wrestlers backstage after the show.
Organisers say demand has been strong ahead of the promotion's first event.
They added: "We've had a great response already, and with the venue having a limited capacity, we're encouraging people to book in advance. Tickets must be purchased before the event, and we expect the show to sell out ahead of the day."
Free parking will be available at the venue, and advance booking is required.
