Pontefract specialist features in national NHS England menopause campaign
As Menopause Awareness Month shines a spotlight on women’s health, a specialist from the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is helping lead the national conversation after being featured in a new NHS England campaign
Ms Veena Kaul, a consultant gynaecologist and menopause specialist based in Pontefract Hospital, is the face of the campaign, sharing expert advice to help raise awareness of menopause, its symptoms and the support available to women.

The campaign encourages open conversations about menopause and aims to improve understanding of a life stage that can significantly impact physical health, emotional wellbeing and everyday life.
Ms Kaul has played a key role in supporting women across the region and advocating for greater awareness and access to menopause care throughout her career.
Her involvement in the national campaign highlights both her expertise and the important work taking place at the Trust to improve women's health.
Ms Kaul said: "Menopause affects every woman differently, but no one should feel they have to navigate it alone.
"By talking openly about menopause and understanding the support available, we can help more women access the advice and treatment they need to live well during this stage of life."
